“Be Bold. Be True” is this year’s theme for Nike’s “Black History Month” collection. This particular year showcases 3 star athletes in 3 different sports – Kevin Durant, the star basketball forward, Serena Williams, champion tennis star and Didier Drogba, European soccer sensation honoring their contributions to their respective sports and communities. A portion of the sales of the collection will go towards Big Brother Big Sisters of America.
The collection will contain 7 shoes and the big 3 Nike Basketball signatures will be represented. The main colors in the theme are orange, black and grey, colors that are staples of Nike since it’s inception. Along with the colors are the intricate BHM print that wraps around the upper and midsole of the shoe.
All three pairs are slated to drop on January 26th with a surprising $20 price hike on each signature bringing the LeBron X to $200, Kobe 8 to $160 and KD V to $135. Does that affect your decision to cop at all? Personally, I’m going to passing on all 3 because the designs this year don’t warrant the price hike in my opinion. What are your thoughts? Which one(s) do you plan on copping? Tell us in the comments below!
